Hello ,
How to calculate length and width of a slot to be etched from the patch.?
By introducing meandering slots how patch antenna will resonate for multibands?
how to know the modes which excited, in the patch for above case. |

If you build a patch antenna, the best way to determine the width and length is through experimentation. Particularly if you make your patch antenna with copper tape, you can quickly manipulate it and figure out what to do in order to increase bandwidth.
If you want to simulate it with a numerical code like FEKO or HFSS, then experimentation works well. Particularly, you can find a design in IEEE Antennas Journal and start with that.
I don't have a good way of thinking about what modes are excited. You'll have to figure out for what frequencies the antenna is resonating, and figure out how the current/voltage "fits" on that structure to enable radiation.
For dual band patches, possibly you could try impedance matching? |
