Greetings everyone,
Does it matter, when measuring pattern of certain element in a MIMO array, to terminate all other ports with matched load ?? |

| You should, because the antennas used in an actual system will have a receiver at 50 Ohms. Closely spaced antennas absorb each other's energy (reducing the antenna efficiency) and may alter the radiation pattern as well. |

Another question is you don't mind .. When it is acceptable to measure envelope correlation coefficient ECC from S-parameters and when it's a must to use the far field pattern formula? And, does it have any meaning to measure ECC at only one plane using 2D pattern or at least two perpendicular planes or should I use 3D pattern (which is very labor)?
Thank you in advance |
