I am going to do a project on harvesting electrical energy from em waves emitted by electrical appliances. for this i have 2 doubts.
1. I want to know the frequency of the em waves emitted by the electrical appliances , whether they will be available online or i have to measure the frequency?
2.I found a paper related to this topic, in which they used helical antenna near the LCD TV and got an output of 28.66mW , whether will i get same output if i use an microstrip antenna?
Thanks

All appliances shipped in the US are specifically checked by the FCC to ensure that they have a minimum of "unintentional" radiated emission. You will not be able to harvest anything

You might get some useful energy from vibration.. Smile

I had some persistent sales engineers trying to sell me their energy harvesting chip for a military sensor device I was designing. The device drew 18W. They kept insisting that their few microwatts might give me a useful increase in battery life.
