I was intrigued by antenna-theory.com's article on the Friis Transmission Equation, as it seems to suggest (probably unintentionally) that the so called "Free space path loss" is a real loss (dissipation of RF power) and not a compensation factor for the substitution of Effective Aperture for Gain.

It's "almost" discussed, as the author mentions the antenna size dilemma - but then simply dismissed as a challenge for the antenna designer.

I would recommend an update to reflect this better, I mean, we all know that long distance RF links work just as well at high frequencies, right?
