Hi all,
I am in a spot. I'm renting a room, so i can not do anything physical to the house or the modem\router. There's a microwave, two exterior walls, and a butt load of pipes in between me and there... In order of the things I've tried:

1) I got a range extender, the signal is extremely boosted but not any better. the signal just drops off randomly resulting in me lagging to death in wow.

2)I set up a router with DD-Wart and made it a bridge. I got no improvement from that. (Is there something else i can do with this, like an access point?)

So I have been looking high and low for a solution and I was thinking that a cantenna may be what i need. What I am unsure of there is how to get the signal from my bathroom (largest window facing the router) to my PC.

Please let me know what you think, I really appreciate any help.

How far are away is the router? WIFI has a max time delay that is equivalent to about 250ft in free space (and if the signal bounces around or goes through walls it will take longer to get there).

You might just want to experiment with getting your antenna as close as possible and trying different orientations and locations
