Hey, I am a newbee in antennas. I am working on a project that designs a microstrip patch antenna and there's requirement of antenna filter as well. I really don't have a clue what an antenna filter is and where exactly do we implement it, neither I could find any literature on internet or textbooks. Can somebody fill me up on antenna filters or suggest me where can I get the literature to read and understand.
Thanks! |

Your antenna will have some operating band, say for WIFI (2.4-2.48 GHz). The antenna filter would probably be a bandpass filter, centered around 2.45 GHz, that would filter out signals that you don't want to radiate or receive.
Basically, it sounds like they want you to have a patch antenna with a band pass filter between the antenna and the radio. |
