I just discovered your site.

I've got an antennas exam imminently, and just wanted to ask a couple of things...



Can anyone draw a picture of a 2-dimensional high-gain antenna radiation pattern ...I've got an idea what it might look like, and I just want to see whether it matches up to what anyone here thinks.

For a 3d view of a high gain radiation pattern, see

High gain on your test probably means "highly directional" in which case the radiation pattern would concentrate most of the energy towards a single direction.

A 2d gain pattern might look like Figure 1:

Just make the "main beam" more narrow and the sidelobes lower.
