I’ve been trying to work through the antenna gain calculation that’s incorporated in the video clip on Page 3 of Parabolic Dishes. I can’t get anywhere near the quoted 1630/32dB answer that is stated in the clip. I can however get to 16738/42dBs consistently, which is a magnitude of 10 out from your answer. I’ve checked the gain calculation using a simple mental calculation that I sometimes use and I get 40dB using the 18GHz RF and 0.5m dish diameter doing it quickly, which is close to my 42dB answer. Am I doing something wrong? I'd appreciate it if someone can work through the video example and provide me with the full math of the answer.
