Hi all,
I always think it's cheeky when people duck into specialist forums and start asking questions but today it's my turn so I apologise for that!
My question is, if I wanted to 'gently warm' a wire/PWB trace, could I do this wirelessly if I made the trace a receiving antenna?
I've got a 50R signal generator (up to 3GHz), if I impedance match the trace will it get warm?
So if I had say a 10cm long track on a PCB, could I get it warm by transmitting power on a certain frequency if I built in 50R's of impedance to the trace? (the trace is not connected to any other components - until I add some for the impedance matching). The PCB will not be powered in any way, I just want to make the trace warm without touching it. I could potentially add a pattern to one end of the trace to act like an antenna (i've seen some called 'F' antennas which might be the same kinda thing.
As you may have gathered, RF and antenna's are not my area of expertise.
