I am currently working on a case study for the development of wind power generation. Based on the following details i have to analyse the available spectrum (frequency spectrum) and reccomend the most appropriate part of the spectrum to be used for wireless maintenace. Any ideas about what factors to consider when analysing the spectrum? Some details about the case study
-ten turbines are placed onshore with their tower bases at the 100 metre countour heigh
-the ofshore region is a 10 square kilometre region with 25 turbines spaced approximately 800 metre apart to give 100MW offshore generating capacity
-Power from the offshore turbines will be brough ashore by an undersea cable.
-communication between the turbines should be based on radio communications

Some turbine Key facts

Hi,

I'm not the most professional here, but would say that 1st of all you would need to check the spectrum division with your Regulator. Wink Then check with the Regulator, whether you need any licence for your use/purpose (within the available band/-s).

Then you may start choosing a frequency (from the available band/-s), equipment, etc.

Btw., are you sure the blades won't be distracting the communication? How about the (probably quite strong) EMFs? Why don't you just lay parallel telecommunication cables, along the power cables? Idea

Just my point of view. Hope it helps (a bit).

Best
