Hi Guys/Gals,
Was trying to optimize a dipole antenna, was trying to figure out how the graph was created on figure 6 of the dipole antenna section.
I am trying to investigate the different relationships between length and how it affects the antenna for a further study in using dipoles for an array-configuration for beamforming.
I need to replicate a graph like Fig.6 but do not know where to get the formula for it, is it a standard formula ?
Is it something I can use and then reference it, would appreciate if the author of the site could let me know about this.
Cheers in advance ! |

I think the exact equation is some complicated monstrosity out of Balanis' antenna theory book.
It would only hold in the theoretical sense (no feed effects, infinitely thin wire, infinitely thin gap, etc). So it's more illustrative than anything else....I'd recommend fitting a straight line to the curve and calling it good. |
