| Just out of pure curiosity, how did you end up on an antenna theory site looking for the answer to a bluetooth pairing question? |

I believe that when you bring your Bluetooth capable phone into close proximity to another Bluetooth device they automatically set up a secret handshake protocol and recognize each other. They are not allowed to talk (much or about anything important) to each other till you give your secret password to the device you do not own (probably not your phone)
So your real questions are what is my secret password and how do I give that to the toher device.
