hello,
a power divider is used to split the power source to a number of antenna. I normally see power divider being divided to 2,4,8 and ...
How can I use a power divider if I only have an array of 7 antennas? is it ok if I use 1 to 8 power divider and I use a terminator at one of the end of the power divider?
thanks in advance for the reply. |

| If you don't mind the wasted power of having one of 8 ports terminated in a loss, it is fine to do it that way. Just make sure the termination you use has an impedance similar to the other antennas. |

| I've heared that you can combine for example two dividers to get the results but i don't know how it works. |

I think you are talking about cascading.
That is, if you take a 2:1 power divider, it has two outputs, each with half the power. Then you feed each output into 2 distinct 2:1 power dividers, and then you have 4 outputs each with 1/4 of the initial power...... |

If you don't want to waste power, is there a reason it would be bad to put a combiner onto two of the ports?
The power wouldn't be evenly distributed, but at least it wouldn't be wasted. |

| My friend made divider 1:3 on kapton and it works pretty well so you can design something like that if you have software(he was desiging in CST microwave studio) |
