|
|
Hi all
I am trying to design a truncated patch broadband antenna at 1.575GHz. I have managed to get the Length and width of the patch with substrate of Er=10. However the result show that resonant frequency is correct but the S11 seem close to only -8dB, seem to be mismatch.
Hence would like to ask if anyone know how to do a rough calculation input impedance? I heard the rule of thumb is 1/3 the length but I would like to narrow it down further.
Thanks |

That rule of thumb is nonsense. Don't use that source.
s11=-8 dB is not too bad in terms of mismatch loss. (0.75 dB improvement with perfect matching, not sure it will make a difference in your application).
What mismatch loss are you shooting for? |
