Hi,
I am newbie to RFID. I am little confused with near field and far field techniques and antenna coupling at LF/HF and microwave. Pls explain me. |

So what do you mean near field and far field techniques? Techniques for doing what?
RFID typically communicates in a "near field" manner. That is, the system along with the antenna don't really produce much in terms of radiated fields. The antennas are more like inductors that couple to another inductor when placed in proximity. The same goes for NFC antennas.
This is in contrast to far field antennas, which are the more commonly known type. The job of these antennas is to produce radiated fields, which have the property of dieing off at 1/R^2 where R is distance. |
