| What characteristics change when a loop antenna is made of a few turns -say 4- compared to a single turn loop of the same diameter ? |

For loop antennas, you don't want to do that. The energy will just couple across the loops, you will not get better performance.
For NFC antenna, you increase or decrease the number of loops to get the inductance in the range of 0.8-3uH. |

For low frequencies, when the loop impedance is small
compared to the receiver input resistance (mostly 50 Ohms)
the impedance does not impair the performance.
Under this condition more turns mean more signal voltage. |
