Hi
My name is Thomas and I am trying to build a model to predict where in the far-field (i.e. at what theta and phi angles) the effect that is reflected in the radome of a large reflector antenna, will end up. So far, I have build a geometrical optics ray tracing model, there I know the directions and phase of each ray. Since the geometry is smooth (no scattering) and very large counted in wave length, I believe this is a good model. Next step would be to make the integration over the sphere, in order to calculate the RPE contribution, but I am not sure how this done in the best way. I have thought about representing each ray as a gaussian beam, but I do not know what waist radius (of the beam) that I should use. Is there a better way to do this?
My thanks in advance!
