Hello !!!

I am new in antenna design and I will appreciate a lot if you can help me about the following.
My project is to design a 2 port patch antenna for MIMO applications operating at 2.45 GHz. I am thinking to design a square patch feeding with λ/4 transformation line like the one below.

- L -
IIIIII -
IIIIII L I I I (λ/4)
IIIIII -
I
I(λ/4)
I

So can this antenna be used for MIMO application?
If yes how can I achieve matching? Can I achieve it like single feeding patch?

Thank you in advance!

hmmm.....for effective mimo, the antennas need a good degree of isolation between them (S12).

So if you are trying to send two signals at a single antenna, I think the isolation will be very poor. As a result, I don't think this will work at all.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply!!!

Can you please let me know how can I achieve a good isolation in a square patch with 2 ports?

Please I need a rough idea about the scheme and then I will simulate it in CST to see the result.

You cannot achieve good isolation in a single square patch with two ports.
