First and foremost, I think that http://www.antenna-theory.com/ is an excellent website. The information provided describes some important (and sometimes complicated) radio frequency concepts, but is written in a language understandable to the layman.

It mentions that horn antennas first came into being in 1939. It had been my understanding that the first horn antennas were made by Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose in 1897:

Hmm...interesting. I thought Horns weren't around till the 30s. I guess they were using higher frequencies than I knew of in the 1890s.
