| For a load with a certain impedance, it makes sense to add a quarter wavelength section in order to tune the input impedance to match the rest of the line. However, would there be reflections off the load when the wave goes from the quarter wavelength section to the load? |

| Wait, I got it; the impedance the load sees is not simply the characteristic impedance of the quarter wave section, but the total input impedance of the quarter section and the rest of the line. The impedance will be matched in both directions if it is matched in one. |
