Hi everyone! I'm brand new in the word of antennas and maybe that's a stupid question but I need some help Embarassed Embarassed
Here's my problem: I am using CST microwave studio to perform some simulations with bow-tie antennas and I have to check if instead of the "complete" model of my antenna I can use a simplified one (the reason for that is to make the simulation faster), so basically I have to compare these two models of antenna.
Which are the characeristic parameters that I should take into account in order to understand if the two models are equivalent?
I was thinking of comparing S11 parameter and Power Absorption (the antenna is radiating in a muscle sample), but I don't know if that's enough to assess wether they are equivalent or not!
Thanks to everyone who finds some mins to answer Very Happy

They will never be perfectly equivalent.

However, if the return loss (S11 or vswr) and the power absorption matches, then they are likely "equivalent enough". One more parameter if you can measure it is radiation efficiency.
