Good morning
i have recently read about the concept of loaded folded dipole-monopole (in the antenna engineering handbook).
The load connects one of the end of the antenna to the ground.
But looking at the picture it looks for me as a (half) loop antenna with an additional load that could be a capacitor to tune the antenna.
Does anybody know something about the behaviour and interest of such antenna?
Many thanks in advance for your reply |

It's not clear what you are describing - what is the load? If I read this right, you have a feed connecting the ground plane to a dipole antenna that wraps back around and connects via a capacitor to the ground?
If so, then yes the capacitor can be used to tune the antenna - this is capacitive loading. The antenna though appears to be more of a loop-type antenna, I don't know if I would classify that as a folded monopole. |
