My only experience is in single band antennas (434MHz and 868MHz).

I'd like to integrate a quad band chip antenna into a project I'm working on. Frequencies would be 850, 900, 1900, 2100Mhz (2G/3G ...

Try a search for the FCC ID over at http://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/

The web site above should have internal photos of the device's antennas.

Sorry to hear about the damage.

I'm guessing you're unable to access other expensive expensive RF equipment.

The experiment I'm thinking of involves hacking a Wifi device that hopefully has 50oh ...

Hi,

I was wondering what typical tests are done to ensure good Wifi transceiver design (board level).

e.g. Link budget theory and test, acceptance band, channel sensitivity, selectivity, antenna ...

I really enjoyed reading the Vivaldi antenna thought process and seeing how the author used intuition to design the antenna rather than equations.

I believe I have a decent understanding...

Not sure why wolverine1 is being so discouraging, building ANYTHING is a good place to start. Dipoles are well-covered in school and building, testing, and confirming theory is always a worthwhile ex ...

I think one of the issues with the problem is antennas are symmetrical: if they're good transmitters, then they're good receivers. If you want to reduce the range on the antenna in general, you coul ...

Looks like some physicists are trying to apply an optical multiplexing trick to add another dimension to modulating RF waves:

So is the take away that...

MIMO systems can be thought of as multiple receivers, with one antenna each, receiving separate bit streams to improve the overall data rate

Whereas...

If you don't want to waste power, is there a reason it would be bad to put a combiner onto two of the ports?

The power wouldn't be evenly distributed, but at least it wouldn't be wasted.

The grounding comment was to suppress harmonics for ICs soldered onto your circuit board and reduce transmission line losses.

On your IC there are different voltage inputs that might supply the PA, ...
